This school is committed to safeguarding, child protection, and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all members of the school and its community to share this commitment

Dear Parents/Carers,
Thank you for showing an interest in our school. We provide a high quality education for all the children who come to Englefield Green Infant School and Nurseries. We are a two form entry Infant School, with Squirrels Nursery for 2-3 year olds and Acorns Nursery for 3-4 year olds. We offer vertically streamed classes in Key Stage One. Therefore, we have three mixed age classes of Year One and Two.
We are affiliated with the Guildford Diocese and also belong to the North Runnymede Learning Partnership of schools.  We wo
rk closely with these partners to continue the learning journey of our school, and also with St Jude’s C of E Junior School as the majority of our children move on there.
We are committed to developing your children so they can be confident and independent learners. It is important to us that every child is known and recognised here at Englefield Green Infant School and Nurseries.
We know as Parents/Carers that you have already begun the learning process and we look forward to working in partnership with you to continue your child’s development.
For working parents we offer wrap around care at our Breakfast club and at our after school club (Gap Club).
You are very welcome to visit us by telephoning the school office to make an appointment. We would love to show you our school.

I look forward to meeting you in the near future.

Public Consultation

Proposal to open a new school by amalgamating Christ Church C of E Infant School and Englefield Green Infant School and Nurseries

Statutory notices published on March 2020 were paused due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are writing to let you know that we will be re-issuing the statutory notices on 14 September 2020 for a period of 4 weeks. It is now proposed that the new school will open on 1 September 2021.

In partnership, Surrey County Council, Guildford Diocesan Board of Education and the Governing Bodies of Christ Church C of E Infant School and Englefield Green Infant School and Nurseries, are consulting on a proposal to open a new school by amalgamating the two schools into a single institution on 1 September 2021. It is proposed that the new school will be a voluntary aided Church of England school and will be situated on the existing site of Englefield Green Infant School and Nurseries.

The leadership teams of Englefield Green Infant School and Nurseries, Christ Church C of E Infant School and St Jude’s C of E Junior School are excited by the opportunity to build on the history and heritage of all three schools and offer local children a great start to their school lives. They aspire to:

• Build an outstanding school that meets the needs of all learners within the community it serves.

• Provide all children with a stable, secure and disciplined environment where they achieve their academic, personal and social potential, in preparation for the next stage of their lives.

• Offer a broad and balanced curriculum with a range of activities which stretch beyond the length of the school day, allowing all children the opportunity to excel not just academically but within the wide context of life including sports, music and creative arts.

• As a Church of England School,  have a distinctly Christian ethos but be fully inclusive of those of other faiths and those of no faith.

By bringing the two infant schools together and building on links with St Jude’s Junior School, school leaders will create integrated and sustainable primary provision on two school sites. Their aim is to have two schools full of happy and confident children with enquiring minds and a positive sense of their own wellbeing. Children will enjoy a rich curriculum where they can develop good skills in English and maths to help them access the widest range of learning opportunities. Targeted support will ensure all pupils achieve well including where they have specific learning needs. Emphasis will be placed on the development of the ‘whole child’ with specific opportunities planned for their academic, personal, spiritual and cultural development.

The statutory notices will be published on 14 September and there will be a 4-week period until 12 October for you to send responses. The Leader of the Council will then make a decision whether to determine the statutory notices on 10 November 2020.

Please go to www.surreysays.co.uk to view the full statutory notices, complete the online survey and view the analysis of the responses to the informal consultation. Paper copies will also be made available at all three of the schools if you prefer.
