HEAD-2

URGENT MESSAGE SUNDAY 22.3.20

Dear Parents/Carers,

With the sharp rise in Covid-19 deaths this weekend, we have received guidance from Surrey County Council to stress the importance of keeping children at home.

Although we can put in measures at school to wash hands and keep social distance, your children will be safer at home with you if that is at all possible.  When they come to school they will be mixing with children from other families.

We have a number of children coming into school tomorrow.  We appreciate that we have some legitimate key workers who have no choice but to send their children where both parents are for instance working in hospitals. However, if there is any way that your child can be safely cared for at home please let us know.

If one parent is working from home then your child would be safer to stay with them so they are limiting the amount of people they are coming into contact with.

If both parents are key workers who work away from home and your child must come to us, the advice is that they have a fresh clean set of clothes every day when they come to school.  When they get home from school children should shower top to toe before they touch anything at home and their clothes should be washed.  These children should not come into contact with any person who is vulnerable.

We are very much being led by guidance we receive on a daily basis.  If this changes your intentions for tomorrow, please let us know as soon as possible. Thank you for your cooperation during this time.

This school is committed to safeguarding, child protection, and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all members of the school and its community to share this commitment.

Dear Parents/Carers,
Thank you for showing an interest in our school. We provide a high quality education for all the children who come to Englefield Green Infant School and Nurseries. We are a two form entry Infant School, with Squirrels Nursery for 2-3 year olds and Acorns Nursery for 3-4 year olds. We offer vertically streamed classes in Key Stage One. Therefore, we have three mixed age classes of Year One and Two.
We are affiliated with the Guildford Diocese and also belong to the North Runnymede Learning Partnership of schools.  We work closely with these partners to continue the learning journey of our school, and also with St Jude’s C of E Junior School as the majority of our children move on there.
We are committed to developing your children so they can be confident and independent learners. It is important to us that every child is known and recognised here at Englefield Green Infant School and Nurseries.
We know as Parents/Carers that you have already begun the learning process and we look forward to working in partnership with you to continue your child’s development.
For working parents we offer wrap around care at our Breakfast club and at our after school club (Gap Club).
You are very welcome to visit us by telephoning the school office to make an appointment. We would love to show you our school.

I look forward to meeting you in the near future.

We won Gold! A huge thank you to the children and parents who helped us achieve this award. We desperately need some volunteers to keep our grounds and vegetable patches going. Please speak to the office if you can give up an hour once a week to help us maintain our lovely outside areas.
